Gotoh Floyd problem :(

Hey guys,
I have a Gotoh Floyd Rose... and the arm holder has gotten loose. The arm torque is fine but the whole arm holder is wriggling.

For those of you who have it.. there is this screw thing that looks like this.

I think thats the thing I have to tighten ... but what should I use?!?

Anyway, I prefer using the Schaller FLoyd Rose arm... anybody knows how to remove the arm (holder and all)?

Cheerio!
Daniel

Actually have you tried you're local hardware store?

You'd be pretty surprised to find the different types of screw drivers they have for sale there.

I've seen a screwdriver like this being sold at the hardware store located at ikea!

Good luck dude.

I've got one of those and what you actually need to do is to get a small allen wrench to tighten it, it'll take you some trial an error to find the right one 'cause you need a really thin one but if you go to a hardware store they should be able to help you find the right size.

I would go with the allen wrench. I am surprised that if you have a Floyd Rose already you haven't got a huge allen wrench selection. I now have three sets .

Guys.... please read carefully.. Its the arm holder, not the arm that's loose.

The arm holder is inside the trem base plate... that is wobbling....

I'll have to hunt for that special wrench tomorrow... I hope I can find it...

Re: Gotoh Floyd problem :(

Ah... hmm... okay, the arm torque in the arm holder is fine. The arm holder is working well.

BUT... the connection of the trem base plate to the arm holder is loose... so the whole arm assembly is shaking...

Anyway.... brute force ruled the day... I got fed up and took a large piler, twisted as hard as I could... the whole arm holder is out now... Going to look for a proper nut this time round.. if it can't be found, then its a schaller arm.
