Gotoh Floyd Rose - Does it come in cosmo black?

I've looked at allparts, guitarpartsdepot, etc, and seem to only find it in chrome, black and gold. Anyone know where to get a cosmo black one? Or if they even make it in cosmo?

I don't think they make it in that finish! I'm almost sure...

stewmac.com has just announced Gotoh tuners in cosmo so MAYBE bridges and other hardware will follow(we can hope). Unfortunately, it appears that cosmo hardware is quite a bit more expensive than other finishes.

Without trying to sound mean...
There are alot of posts on jemsite here about cosmo hardware being of the poorest quality.
I for one agree with them, it wears off after as little as 2 weeks. Sometimes it can take a year or two but your left with rust, brassy color or just a horrible monotone of different grey shades.

You might be best stickin with gold, chrome or black.

I was thinking the same thing, nullsys. Cosmo wears off very easily. Black is much more durable, in my experience.

Didn't they ban the plain black plating in Europe? I know lots of sites list black as "no longer able to ship to Europe", and OFR's which used to be black on some stock guitars are now cosmo(Schecter/ESP).

Black Gotoh trems and locking nuts seem to be out of stock, or in short supply, everywhere also.

Now, I'm not 100% here, but it was an environmental thing. After looking for the article I read, and coming up blank, if it is an issue it's probably RoHS compliance based.

There are 2 black Gotoh trems listed, yes. Both use the same stock photo, but one has a shot of the trem that looks suspiciously chrome-black.

Really, I would avoid cosmo if you're getting a new trem anyway. As others have said, it wears poorly over time.
