Graph Tech OFR string saddles

Any users of the Graph Tech Floyd Rose replacement saddles? I know it will stop string breakage, but how does it affect the tone? Do you think it was a worthwhile upgrade? Heard it was a like it or hate it kind of product.

Thanks,
Dennis

Re: Graph Tech OFR string saddles

i can't say much...but I did just get them and put them on. I don't know about the tone because I don't play through an amp very often. Compared to the slide-string-through speedloader type of saddles my guitar used to have, it's much more tuning stable. They're expensive, too, so unless you're breaking strings like crazy at the bridge, I wouldn't bother. I love them on my strat and epiphone cause they really reduced breakage. On the floyd... time will tell

Re: Graph Tech OFR string saddles

Thanks Andrew, not many I know use these string saver saddles. Like you many use it on their Strats, but few have used on their Floyds. The few I talked to do not seem to care about the tonal change, though accept the fact it does save strings from breaking.

One last question. Did you mean your tuning stability got better after using the Graph Techs or was it better with the original saddles?

Thanks a lot!

Re: Graph Tech OFR string saddles

better with graph techs. The speedloader bridge doesn't clamp at the bridge, so the strings can twist and move around when you dive. I never understood what they were thinking when they did that.
