grg 170dx


HI!
i have a ibanez grg 170 dx wh
and i have a little problem with that
i changed the factory strings and these new strings i changed the are kind a loose (especially the 6th and the 5th) and its causing a giant fret buzz
could some one help me out?

First of all what string gauge did you use? If you changed from the Ibanez standard 9-42s you will probably need to adjust the bridge and the truss rod.

no i used the same gauge - everythings the same
now i even tried with another set of strings- it was a little bit less but it still appears when you fret these strings down

Have you checked if the bridge just needs to be raised a tad? Could be as simple as that. Where is it buzzing? If its from the first fret up to say the 7th you might need a truss rod adjustment, if it's on the higher frets you might need to raise the bridge. Intonation could also be an issue, and you might need to adjust the saddles a bit.
