Guitar Build: Les Paul

Hi guys,

I'm posting this for a friend of mine who is building a guitar shortly.

He was originally going to have it painted black with a gold stripe like the ESP James Hetfield guitar, but upon hearing that it would cost $700, he decided to leave the body with natural maple it had.

We both agree that it looks much better anyway

Specs:

Neck Material: Mahogany
Frets: Standard
Fretboard: Ebony
Inlays: Standard Dot
Body: Mahogany (Quilted Maple Top)

Neck Pickup: EMG 85
Bridge Pickup: EMG 81

Bridge: Tune-O-Matic with Stopbar
Hardware Colour: Black
Finish: Clearcoat

And here's a mockup pic of what it will pretty much look like (except for headstock).

Yeah he'll love it alright

Gorgeous with class! Hows it compare to tone & feel? It has a gloss or satin neck? Is it lighter? Thought of air-chambers?

The tone should be somewhat similar to a Zakk Wylde Les Paul due to the EMG set and the woods commonly used in the Les Pauls. The body will be glossed, not sure about what he plans to do with the neck though.

He was going to paint that? I know people who would kill to have a guitar with that beautiful natural maple finish with the high gloss clear over it. That is one beautiful guitar.

Yeah he was gonna paint it black lol. He didn't realise how good it would look with the maple until he saw that. He's even more excited about it now.
