HELP! I cannot untighten the internal pivot post screws.....

.....on my lo-pro Edge. They are completely locked tight and until I untighten them I can't adjust my guitars action.

Any tips or suggestions would be great.....

Cheers

Max

Always loosen the stud, never the set screw.

As coicidence would have it I am currently (re)ploughing through the Ibanez Rules Tech section - an invaluable, fantastic and muchly appreciated resource!!!

That aside, even after having loosened the stud, I still cannot "unlock" the linernal lock screw!

you sure it was tightened to begin with?

Otherwise, pull the stud out to investigate.

Might try a small drop of penetrating oil and heat the stud up,not too hot, with a small tip soldering iron.

Good idea, and thanks for the suggestion......

I did try a little oil in there to see if that would help free things up, but no luck there.

I think I'll take the bridge off, remove the whole pivot posts, and try to see what's going on from there. If for whatever reason I still cannot get them apart, I'll get out the soldering iron and give this a go!

Ya,the oil and heat thing will only work if it is stuck from not being turned for a long time or a little rust. It could be that the treads are galled or maybe the locking screw is bent. I sometimes wonder how many people don't know about the locking studs and damage one of the parts by tightening down on it too hard.

Tried loosening the locking screws inside the studs? Or are they the problem?
