Help! RG550 pickup selector crackling!

Hey guys. A lot of times when I switch between the EMG's on my RG550, the signal will crackle a noticeable amount. It's usually when I switch to the bridge pickup.

It's a fairly old switch. The EMG's were installed a few years ago.

Do I just have a bad switch? I opened up the pickguard and all the connections looked good, but it still does it. Should I WD-40 it or what? Perhaps it needs replacing?

Do not use WD-40 on electronics unless you're trying to dry them out from being wet.

Yeah I always forget that. I might just go buy some contact cleaner from radio shack today.

Get some contact cleaner. Open the switch up and clean her out.

I just replaced it with a spare I had lying around. It was already really old and I figured it would be needed eventually anyway. All is well now.
