Help!!! Trem Stud!!

I was changing strings on my Jem today as always (its kinda like a sunday routine). I wedged a 9v battery under the trem and i noticed one of the studs (treble side) seemed to lift up a little bit. I didn't really give it much tought at the time and let the matter go. When I went to put the new strings on, I wedged the trem slightly higher and this time the movement of the stud was much more conspicuous. So i took out the trem and checked the stud. I went to try to pull it out and WHAM! it was in my hands!!!! along with the part that's suppose to stay in the wood!!! The stud and the silver thing (forgot what it's called) pulled out together so the threads are not stripped. Are these suppose to pull out this easy?! My other one seems to stay put no matter how hard I try to pull!! Please help! Maybe I'm just being foolish...and over reacting....oh god...AHHHH!!!!

Put it back in and make sure it still fits snug, if it does pull it out and use a little wood glue around the inside of the hole before you reseat it again.

So I should glue it down? I'm a little confused. What if it doesn't fit snug?

I'm pretty sure its snug. I took the snug and shook it and it didn't move left to right. Does that count as snug?

If I don't glue it down, will it affect sustain noticibly? I was just playing it and i notice the sustain went down considerably. My action might be a little low too...I just ran a setup on it...Anyway, I'll glue it down right now. Thanks so much Rich! time and again...I feel like such a pain...first a broken neck now a wayward stud...

If you don't glue it it'll just pop up again.
