Help with broken Jem! - Broken trem part

Hi everyone!

I own a Jem 7DBK giutar, and tonight when I went to adjust the action, I placed my allen wrench in the part that you twist to raise and lower the trem (I don't know the technical name for this part) and when I went to turn, it just snapped in half! My trem is still in place, but I need to replace the part. Can I just bring it in to my local shop and will they be able to replace this? Help!!!!

Thanks!

Michael

this happens every so often. you just need a new tremolo post. Replace in pairs so get two. Remove the trem (see Guitars >> TECH SETUP area) and replace the post... glen

DON'T FORGET TO LOOSEN THE STUD LOCKS ON EACH POST BEFORE TO RAISE/LOWER THE ACTION OR, IN THIS CASE, TO KEEP THE POSTS AWAY!

Did you forget to loosen the stud lock???

They are these little screws inside the post (the black post thing you ''twisted'') whichwhen tightened, push down on the bottom of the post "thing" cavity which firmly holds the post "thing" in place.

They smallest allen wrench included with your Jem will loosen the stud lock.

If your local guitar store doesn't carry any posts, you need to order the parts through Ibanez. Lucky for you too! Ibanez (or whatever company is was) recently came out with new Edge/Lo Pro Edge posts.

Check out the forum somewhere on jemsite. *APPARENTLY they're better.
