They sound, well, like piezos. Listening to an ovation or other acoustic plugged in will give you an approximation. Obviously, they sound best through an acoustic amplifier rather than the standard electric guitar fare. At one point, I purchased a Yamaha AG Stomp for my 2027 and it sounded amazing. The AG Stomp really added some warmth and the tone seemed to be more airy and natural.

Compared to my Parker Fly Deluxe, the 2027 piezo sounded a little inferior, but only marginally so.

The biggest problem I had with them was they sounded WAY undercompressed... But I noticed when I went from 10-68 back to 9-56 on my 7620 that the sound became much more snappy and open, as opposed to the evener, more compressed sound with the heavier strings- I'd imagine going up a guage on my 2027 would have done wonders to remedy that.
