How do you stop open strings from buzzing? - my high e and b


not only that but my guitar's overall resonance sounds choked up, like its not ringing out like it did when i got it. help, i think this is just a truss rod adjustment but idk. its an ibanez radius 540 (reminder) its got a lo-pro edge too just to let you tech heads know. just please help ive done so much to get this guitar to sound great now this happens. thanks a ton

How do you stop open strings from buzzing?


Fret them on the 1st and 24th and look for clearance between the string and the fret around the 9th. If tou don't back the truss rod out till you do. Will tell you if it's the truss anyway.

if what rich told you doesnt work try taking the pickups up down a notch maybe they are too close to the strings....

if what rich said doesnt work, you may have to put a shim under the nut of the treble side --- but unless you have something so severe as a twisted neck then this is not a huge problem.

well actually the other day i realized that my guitar was tuned to D so i had to tune up to E. Well the trem starts pulling up making the action really crappy so i had to tighten the claw screws which counteracted the crappy action obviously. and ive only had this problem since, i think....

so i hope that helps. where can i get the tool for the truss rod? any hardware store right?
