Question

how important is it.....?

..... to get the edge pro trem level on action height? what i mean is should the height on either stud be identical or is ok if the treble side is lower than the bass side... if its uneven would it cause problems with the tremolo operation?

TIA

Re: how important is it.....?

slight differences in the heigth of either trem post won't matter, in fact i never got any negative results with differences of up to 1mm (ish) which i think is a full turn of the post in its thread.

However, i only tried different heights as an experiment to see if it could contribute to tuning problems, then put them back to equal height.

All my floating bridges are adjusted so the posts are equal height (by eye - i don't accurately measure it).

all my trems are a little lower on the treble side - no problems..

it makes not a jot of difference if the posts are equal or not.

Re: how important is it.....?

It can interfere with it coming back to neutral from pullups if their are certain factors out of whack. Of course this is related to a number of OTHER issues with the trem. You should have nothing to worry about. I would stick with dan erlewines suggestions though to try to get the action as even as possible on both sides of the fretboard. That way sweep picking, string skipping and other techniques can be made much easier.
