How much biigger is the routing for an edge trem vs a TRSII?

If I put a TRS II in the body of an RG routed for an edge will it look wierd? How much bigger is the cutout?

I think this is a first.

Usually people are asking how they can fit an Edge in a cavity routed for a TRS trem. Why would you want to put a TRaSh trem in there when it's routed for an Edge?

Yeah I know it's wierd but I have a 470 with a TRSII, and I'm buying a body from a 520QS. I want to put my neck and hardware on the 520. Everything except the pickups. I'm replacing those with Dimarzios. Anyway I'm trying to figure out if my TRSII will be ok on that body or if I need to buy an Edge trem.

You'll be fine. The routs are nearly identical except for the "wings", where it's squared off for the Edge and angled for the TRS. I say play the bastard with the TRS until you can afford an upgrade.

Cool, thanks for the info. I have my eye on a good deal for an edge. If that deal falls through I'll just stick with the TRS for now.

Get yourself an edge u will not regret. I had a TRS2 myself in my 555. Now I own a BSB with LoPro and all i can say is: TRS2 is a world of crap. Believe me.

Elysian: Yeah the 520 originally came with an edge, but he only purchased the body of it so far

About putting a TRS2 into an edge route: I'm not quite sure if it's a direct fit. has anyone actually tried it?? After doing a TRS to Lo-Pro swap on one of my guitars (Hi Nuno! ), there's now up to 1 cm of space between the trem and the original TRS routing in some places, especially where the 'larger' part of the trem goes into the 'smaller' part, where the fine tuners are.
If you want me to, I could try to somehow put my guitar onto my scanner, so that you see what I mean.

actually, i just put my trs2 in an edge routed guitar to see, it doesn't fit, its not wide enough, this is my 1994 RG570... the LoTRS II sticks out of the routed hole on the sides

Oh man I hope it fits. I didn't want to buy an edge just yet. The body hasn't arrived yet but I'll let you know what happens when I get it.

no way man, TRS/TRSII are quite bigger than Edge/Lo-Pro. would you really route the cavity to fit a crappy TRS?
save some money, take a look on ebay and get an Edge!

Redundant, I know, but blow off the TRaSh trem for an Edge! So much better - you won't regret it!
