How much would it cost to inlay a guitar?

Im curious, got a blank fretboard bass that is pretty badass, but I was wondering how much/where it would be possible to get someone to take out 2-3 of the frets and do a small inlay job at the 12th fret..

If it can be done for like $200ish or so, I might seriously consider it in the future.. anyone ever have this done/heard of it being done?

This would really depend on elaborate you want the inlay. It's billed on time in. If you have a better idea of what it is you would want, I could give you an idea of what it would cost. I just bought the esential engraving kit from Stew Mac. It arrived yesterday so I haven't even tried it yet. It comes with a couple of stars and a few dots to practice on. I'm hoping I will be alright at it because custom inlaying can get pricey.

its basically a simple design, all straight lines, no curves really. so its not too complex, so it shouldnt be toooo difficult.

Depending on how complicated the inlays are you could be looking at anywhere from $300 to 600 dollars!
