how to clear coat a swirl?

when i tried to clear coat one of my test swirls the paint bubbled and fought with it. i am using ennamel paint and i am pretty sure the clear is ennamel too. what clear coat would you guys use?

I used acrylic clear, laquer clear, and enamel clear and had no problem whatsoever, the finish is gorgeous! Wait for the swirl to dry and just srpay 2-3 cans of clear right onto it without sanding or anything. Should turn out ok.
