How to make a mirror pickguard

I was wondering if anyone can help me on how to make a black mirror pickguard fit for a UV.

New material
Router
Drill
Countersink
Spacers and screws to offset new material from template

Well... I was considering using acrylic over a black mirror. I have the acrylic but where do i get a black mirror? I have a dremel with routing bits and a drill so I think I'll do fine with those tools and an x-acto knife

Try www.allparts.com for a wide variety of materials. They have the mirrored stuff, I think

I just tried routing acrylic with a dremel on its lowest speed,it melts.Instead I used a scroll saw at its lowest speed with good results.It definitely requires some patience.

Even a scroll will melt your material....as you cut, the cut you just made melts back together behind the blade.

A table router would be best (hint :-) )

Hi eddie I'm using a table top scroll saw(variable speed) with a speed of 400.It doesn't melt the acrylic.In fact it works really good.I'll agree that any speed faster will melt your cuts back together.What speed are you using with your router?It is definitely a bit of work that goes into a pickguard.
