How to remove an Edge/LoPro saddle pin?

Is there an easy way to remove the center pin of a Edge/LoPro saddle?
A way which won't destroy the saddle (especially in the case it has piezo inside...)
Like the one in the picture below:

I just used a punch and it came right out. You can use a dulled nail in a pinch, just tap it with a hammer.

Is it possible that if the trem is rather old, the pin might be stuck in there?
I tried with a punch, but it didn't really wanna seem to come out on one side...
I didn't want to damage it so I stopped...
Thanks for your input!

yeah, we forgot to say that you want to punch the pin on the "smooth" side, that is, you might seen that the pin has a smooth face and a kind of "knurled" one (not the actual "faces" but the inner walls, excuse my english). well, do not punch on the knurled face, it won't come out. same thing when you're inserting it back in place, not by the knurled side.
