How to remove scratches from pickguard?

I know this probably isn't possible but is there a way
to remove scratches from a clear pick-guard? I have
one on my guitar with some scratches and I was
wondering if I could sand them out with say 0000 grade
steel wool or something similar. maybe wet sanding?
I'm trying to avoid having to by a new one I guess.

Im not sure what military aircraft had plexiglass canopies..all the aircraft that i worked around (f14 tomcats and f/a18 hornets) had glass canopies.

But there is a 2 part system made for buffing motorcycle windscreens and i can vouch that it does a very good job on the plexiglass. You can get it on Denniskirk.com

Try using the Plexus first before using the 2 part buffing system i have seen people really mess up windscreens with that stuff if done wrong or with 2 heavy of a hand while buffing
