I cant seem to figure out how to tighten Tremolo Arm Holder

I followed the instructions on the tech setups section of this site.. but it seems like the nut on the inside isnt even being loosened or tightened... is there a chance that a 10mm deep well socket wont work??? if not what will.. or what am I doing wrong.. please help me!!!
