I feel like such a n00b
So I bought a new volume pot because the old one was knackered. A standard Dimarzio 500k pot and I've found (to my surprise) it doesn't fit! The thread wont fit through the whole in the body, it's a teeny bit too fat. So have I n00bishly bought the wrong size or something? You'd think if a Dimarzio pot fit any guitar, it'd fit a damn Ibanez.
So should I just whip a drill out and widen the hole slightly?
Or is there a thinner size I'm not aware of?

It's power tool time.
If I somehow **** this up, I'm holding you solely responsible.

Yeah, I was just playing along. Good luck and remember to keep the drill strait.

Re: I feel like such a n00b
Aquila, you want to drill from the top of the guitar to inside, not the contrary. the drill often smashes the wood around the existing hole you're trying to enlarge. for these kind of works, the best tool is the
reamer
. a piece of tape would help the wood keep in place
ps: anyway, that's a common problem. Ibanez uses small shaft pots on all their models, while DiMarzio pots are only big shaft, as much as i know.
