Ibanez JCRG 8270 broken neck

Hi to all.
Few days ago I broke my 8270 neck during a gig. (somebody came on the scene and throwed me on the public... I felt on the neck, my 160lbs was stronger than the trussbar)
It was almost split into 2 parts. I gave it to my local luthier but he told me that only 2 choise are possible:
- he fixes it but have to replace the whole fretboard (byebye tree of life) (the neck would be reinforced with metal bar)
- finding a new 8270 neck (but never found it...)

To be honest the Tree of life inlays is the most beatiful inlay I ever seen, saw I would make every thing I can to find a new one!

Is there any way to buy new RG neck?
Thanks

There is, but it invoves contacting Ibanez and sending your broken neck off.

Kamui,

Try to contact a japanese dealer by e-mail. They may be able to help you getting a new neck.

Have a local dealer contact the Ibanez rep so you can return the broken neck, and get a replacement.

Re: Ibanez JCRG 8270 broken neck

Is the fretboard already broken? Otherwise, you shouldn't have to lose the fretboard. You might just need a better or more interested luthier. How about some pics of the damage.

Don't give up because your local dealer doesn't know anything. As Ayrton said, get them to talk to the Ibanez rep (or talk to him yourself) and you should be able to buy a replacement.

There is no better advice than what's already here. Except maybe try Headstock in England. Since they did import 8270's it's a stretch but they "might" have a replacement, but also might be a little more interested in getting one if they don't.

Re: Ibanez JCRG 8270 broken neck

Yes, the fretboard is broken too, all my weight was carried on it.
I contacted the french representant of Ibanez, they told me to contact my local dealer. I met the dealer, he said that he can do nothing but giving me a standard prestige neck (not exactly giving... I'll have to pay too), and their luthier told me that he can't fix the fretboard.

I'll try to send a mail to Ibanez Japan and try to see Headstock in England
THX

Edit: I just wrote to Headstock distribution, I really hope that they could do anything. I can't show you the neck cause it's currently at my local dealer to see if they can fix it

Re: Ibanez JCRG 8270 broken neck

if you don't find a new IBZ replacement neck you might consider to get a luthier build custom neck [chris woods for ex.] with the original specs.
all the best

how about the closest Hoshino representative: Hoshino Benelux?

http://www.hoshinobenelux.eu/BE-FR/dealer_list.html

they are located in the Netherlands, but since they also deal with Belgium they could probably help you in your native language as well...

www.guitaruk.com

PJ's Guitar Centre in Portsmouth. They might be able to talk to headstock, but it is a long shot.
