Ibanez Lo-Pro 7 Bridge Template Drawings - Click here

I am wrapping up some CAD drawings for a custom 7 string guitar I am building. I am using the Lo-Pro 7 Tremolo and figured since there's such a shortage of drawings/templates, etc... for this tremolo, I'd post my drawings publicly.

I am still finalizing my measurements and the actual pocket dimensions and will post the DXFs after I have made an actual rout and checked it thoroughly. BTW, the rout I am doing is completely from scratch and in no way a copy of an actual Ibanez rout, but will feature some improvements at the cost of a little extra work in the routing procedure. I am also contemplating selling the template sets for those without access to CNC machinery to make them.

This marker is to avoid folks from attempting the drawings themselves or paying someone $$$ to get a template made. Patience and I'll have the drawings up in under 2 weeks.

Here's the partially finished drawing (still have rear rout to finish, apply dimensioning, and do a test run on some wood!)

More to come!

Well, it's almost near completion... the wood for the top billet is almost finished in the dry cycle so I've made some confirmations and tested a few things. Here 's what I have sofar. I will make a final revision (if necessary) after the guitar is built if I find any tweaks that can be made.

dxf of bridge layout:

dft of bridge layout (use with SolidEdge 2D):

I will post again when the guitar layout and bridge is finalized (still have to test my back pocket rout since I've retained much more wood than most trem-equipped guitars leave here. I may also be able to keep more intact.)

If you would like to make your own patterns and don't have AutoCAD, download "Solid Edge 2D." It is free and what I used for these designs. It really works great! If using SE2D, use the .dft To save the dxf/dft file, rightclick - save as. The image files are compressed jpegs (pretty much here just for quick ref) and I haven't checked scaling so don't use these as templates! And a final warning... double check everything for yourself!
