Ibanez Proline V locking nut?
I have a 1986 Ibanez Proline V 2660 that needs a nut, I am not sure what size it needs, I will be getting it from the 'bay, any help is appreciated, also, its bottom mount.
It has a original edge tremolo.

Re: Ibanez Proline V locking nut?
Top Lok III - 43mm, same as the early Jems. Rich might have one lying around somewhere in his parts bin

Re: Ibanez Proline V locking nut?
That might not be the right radius for an Ibanez neck.

Gotoh 43mm rear mount nut = Top Lok III.

Re: Ibanez Proline V locking nut?
From my research Gotoh makes a 43mm locking nut in 10" and 15" radius. So far I have always used the nuts that came with the Ibanez necks for my projects so I wouldn't have to mess around with a mismatched nut. I'm still trying to sort out what will work. How close do they have to be? Will a 15" Gotoh be close enough to use on a 430mm (16.929133858")Ibanez neck?

I have had the 43mm Gotoh nut and a Top Lok III sitting next to each other before. Same radius, same everything. If I put the Ibanez logo cardboard on the Gotoh packaging you'd never know the difference.
2 Top Lok IIIs and a Gotoh. Said Gotoh is on a Wizard I neck right now.

Re: Ibanez Proline V locking nut?
That's interesting. All the locking nut that came with Gotoh trems I have bought have a groove in the back and the shims have a hump that fits nto the groove. Very different than the Ibanez nuts. They were 1 5/8" nuts so maybe that's the difference. Needless to say I didn't use them.

Re: Ibanez Proline V locking nut?
Yeah, the 42mm nuts were made to leave truss rod access if needed.
