Ibanez RG550 20th Anniversary Pickups

Hey,
Thought id put a thread up for some advice about the 20th anniversary rg550 I have ordered. Im not that great at deciding what is a good pickup and what isn't! I understand that the type of wood the body is made from will sound better with certian pickups than others.
The Rg550 comes with ibanez V1, S2 and V2 pickups. Are these any good or are they cheap tat? I have a Jem90th that has Dimarzio Evo's in and that sounds great but its not quite the sound im after. I want something thats brighter, any ideas?
Thanks

Re: Ibanez RG550 20th Anniversary Pickups

I've been struggling with a similiar issue...I got an RG1570 with V7 & 8s...they are definitely not cheap tat, they rock just fine. I also have PAF Pros in my DY so it's not like I've never heard a good dimarzio.

However, they don't seem to get much love around here and you are definitely better off with a better pickup (if you can be arsed to spend the cash).

I plan to change at least my bridge pup to a Breed.

I love the stock pickups, the v8/7 and s1. I think they sound great, others dont.
