Ibanez V8 Pickup Wiring - Where does the white wire go?

I'm putting an Ibanez V8 in a guitar as the only pickup and with only a volume pot. I know the red is hot and the white was the coil tap when it was attached to a 5 way, so where would the white go now? I soldered it to the 'in' on the pot along with the red but it seems to be in permanent single coil mode that way.

I assume you want it to be in humbucker mode all the time. If so, don't hook up the white wire to anything. Just wrap some electrical tape around it and you're set.
