input jack problem

I recently bought a 03 RGT3120 and the input jack has a problem. The cable doesn't go all the way in. As long as I loop the cord throught the strap, it doesn't come out, but it doesn't "snap" in like normal. I took the little back plate off to check it out and if I try to force the cable in, it looks like something is breaking through, so I didn't force it. It almost seems like the entire jack is too short. Is this common or am I just crazy??

thanks in advance

phil

Re: input jack problem

It is a barrel style jack and what you are experiencing is a broken lug inside the jack. My guess is soon it will stop working completely. You just need to replace it. Not a big deal and they are available all over the net. WD, Allparts, Stew-Mac, and Carvin are just a few vendors.
