Is "Fast Fret" a safe product?

I'm used to clean my strings after playing with a rag with a couple of drops of liquid string cleaner. I'm sure that this can't harm my rosewood fretboard because the rag doesn't physically touch the wood (I grab the string with the rag and I do the same motion that I do when I stretch strings), and I was wondering if Fast Fret would be equally safe. It is a sort of brush, a pad that you wipe up and down the strings, so it goes in contact with the fretboard. Can this harm the wood in some way?

I used to use that stuff..... it builds up after awhile. I recommend "bore Oil" for conditioning fret boards. Been using that stuff for years and its awesome on Rosewood and ebony. Fast fret can be used on the strings on an acoustic during recording to keep the string noise down when you are switching chords.

I would just reccomend wiping the strings and neck down with a good clean rag. Wipe and clean the neck really good during string changes. Jemsite and Rich's site both have good information on neck and string care...

I've always used fast fret on my Gibson SG with an Ebony fretboard and my Ibanez RG with a Rosewood fretboard. Never had any probs.

no problems so far. maybe you can just simple clean them with a clean cloth before and after playing and keep your hands clean etc...

I've used that as well with no probs. I don't like the way it feels on the strings though, so I would oil the board, wipe the excess and let it dry a little before stringing up the guitar.
