Is the 9V battery fits under 7VWH or RG550 pickguard?

I am looking for a player 7VWH to modify with EMG pickups and a new finish. I am wondering if there is enough space in the control route of the body to put the 9V battery. I don't want to drill the hole in the guitar. Any suggestion? Thanks in advance guys.

I have a 550 with EMGs and a small section of wood was removed between the jack socket route and the main controls route to accomodate the battery. I think, after having a root round in there that it could fit *just* without any mods, and with some carful placement.

You can usually get a battery vertically between the 5-way switch and the volume knob. Especially when they give you the smaller diameter pots with the EMG's. Otherwise horizontally it should fit under the volume knob area. In that case, sometimes it's better to put the battery in first with double stick tape, then put the pickguard down over it.
