That actually looks fine to me. The knives look parallel to the body and perpendicular to the posts. Buzz could be the action or any number of things.

I think that "thing under the locking screw" is just the spring for the fine-tuner.

With the glue in there, I think that's pretty much ruined the inside paint job and possibly the wood. I have no doubt you can undo that pretty easily, though with some damage.

The trem isn't in the best of shape either so you can take the plunge and make it a nice refin project.

i think thats what im going to do...now I just need my 550 to get here so i have an RG until its finished! Can someone point me in the direction of a good Refinishing thread...Maybe where to start? I was planning on taking the stock pups out and replace with Dimarzio Breeds. might as well just start taking everything apart.

Why on earth would they glue it in? The tension of the trem block pushing on a chunk of wood would be enough to hold it in there.

This is the Rock Gods' way of punishing you...A floating trem should float. It's a sin against trems to block it up. Buy a guitar with a fixed bridge with locking tuners for goodness sake...

Actually I bought it blocked...it was my friends and it was his only guitar he played at gigs. He used Drop C and Drop D tuning alot so that was his quick fix about 8 years ago...Came with a Drum stick jammed in it. I wanted to unblock it but at the time did not have a spare guitar where i could change the tuning and I did not know about the Tremol-No. So i had it reblocked again...what a waist.

Like i said its getting redone so it will be floating soon enough! Anyone know how to polish the Cosmo trem? Looks like i have oxidation bubbles on the pups rings and the trem and want to clean it up if possible before i put everything back together.
