I dont like any of the oem jackson trems. Some do though. I prefer those with schallers and original floyds. Albeit some of the jackson trems resemble both these in design though

The early 580s were OK. The Schaller made 590 was VERY good - equal to an OFR.

THe Jackson JT580LP is the same as the Ibanez Lo-TRS.

The 500 is good though... I have one and it's very much like the Schallers and OFR's.

that's very strange that they install 580 in uppers models, and 500 in lower ones

I had two Dinky's and sold them to a friend, so I still get to pick them up on occasion. They are both Schaller trems and they're great - completely beyond reproach. I would guess that the 580's are close to the Schaller, because they were the replacement for that trem.

You'll have to play them to check it out for yourself, but I would wholeheartedly recommend the Jackson locking trems on the 6 - 700 dollar Dinky and Soloist style guitars.

But, they aren't as good as an edge.
