Jem 555 broke trem nut:( HELP!

Jem 555.

You know the 2 nuts you lower and raise the tremelo system. I dont know the name of them, but they use a small allen key. Anyways yesturday the tip broke off. Right where the divit the trem sits in. Now its just a piece of metal sticking out.

How do these trem nut/bolts come out? How on earth can i get the one with no allen key slot out?

a few ways. you can take a file and file a slot in it so you can get a flathead screw driver in it to unscrew it. i was able to get visegrips on one, but you have to have enough of it sticking out to do that.
it's not a locking stud(right?) so you should be able to get a grip with something to unscrew it. it shouldn't be that tight. try some needlenose pliers and try to get a grip of it.

As far as the replacement studs, you can check with Rich @ Ibanez Rules (click the swirl banner at the top of this page) I know he has Edge & Lo-Pro studs...not sure about the LO-TRS.

If that doesn't work, there is a complete LO-TRS trem system on 3bay right now that include the studs, nut springs, arm etc etc

Next time this happens, just take the trem off, they should spin freely.

^^^ yep. And if you pull it, you'll get the insert out too and just unscrew it.
