JEM fret buzz

My friend’s friend borrowed my JEM for his show, when he returns the guitar, low E has fret buzz when it hit hard in open E, 1st to 3rd frets. I raise the bridge, buzz didn’t go away.
Only low E string, others are okay. What could be the problem and how do I fix it?

Thanks in advance!

Put the bridge at the old position and change the strings.

That should be first thing you do.

If this doesn't help, try adjusting the neck as maybe your friend had it outside in cold/hot weather.

Re: JEM fret buzz

loosening the neck will make the action higher resulting in less string buzz. only loosen in small increments and let the neck settle for a while before you make another adjustment.
