Jem Knobs - Volume and Tone on 7dbk

Hello, i was just wondering if anybody could tell me how to replace the knobs on the jem7dbk. *When i got the guitar the knobs were misaligned, i.e. 6=1 and 8=10. *I just want to take the knobs off and put them back on correctly without scratching the pickguard or totally breaking the knobs, thank you for your help! * -Kyle

Kylemac,
I'll share a cool trick with you. *Get one of those colored wires that they wrap the end of the loafs of bread up in. *Slide it under the knobs, and slowly rotate it back and forth while you're pulling up. *Works great and won't make any marks! *Still be careful.

Get a Jazz III pic and put it under the knob as far in as it will go and then just lever it up. Don't worry, nothing will snap or get scratched it's all very study.

I use Fender Heavy's, 1 under each side to work the knob off.

You know what works even better for me

taking a Q-tip with a cardboard shaft, then taking a set of flat needle nose pliers and crimping it flat in the centre about a half inch
then slide it under the knob and grab both q-tip ends, works great

you just have to slowly ease them back and forth
thent ehy pop right off

Wow! *I thought I was ****
about day-care, er, I mean fiddle-care.

LOL *- *great to know others are out there too.

I use two heavy picks too - the tie wrap & q-tip sound good too! *

I'm still working on "thinking" them off... * * =8^]

Forgot to mention - I recently ordered some "theoretically" cool knobs for my 7vwh; *they'll be small gold knobs with perloid tops. *I can post website for ordering if anyone's interested...

Everyone seems to have different methods. There might just be a market for a knob-remover. Maybe I should invent one
