Jem vs RG switch

Hey, when I was pulling off schematics for DiMarzio wiring from the website, they give plans for the Jem wiring, which is basically the kind I want for my RG. There are 8 nodes on the diagram for the 5 way selector, and 8 on the one on my rg, but the ones in the diagram alternate the sides they are on, while with the rg switch, they are all on one side.

My question is, if i go from neck to bridge on the 8 nodes on both of them, should the results be the same? If i assume the first node on the diagram is the first on the rg, should i get the same results?

a) both are HSH
b) Its a repair, so i put it under the repair section. I orignally wired it up wrong, so now I'm fixing it

Whats the difference? I thought they all switched and coil tapped the same?
