Re: Jem77 DY Maple restore
i had a maple fretboard that was rather dirty.the guy that does all the jobs on my guitars said it needed bleeching.just thought id mention this as its another idea to clean maple boards.the guy that does all my repairs is red hot at what he does and knows his stuff.anyone else use this technique (bleeching).

Re: Jem77 DY Maple restore
Hi,people!
I've bought JEM77BFP yesterday,as you can see - fretboard is in very bad condition!
I'll try to fix the problem next week, and i'll show you results...
Maybe some useful advice before i start to do that!?
Thank you!!!

FYI, Bleach breaks down fibers. AND, to de-active the bleach you use water. The one thing you dont want on your board as it can make the wood spilt and the frets left. Play it safe, Simple Green

Re: Jem77 DY Maple restore
Wow nice job!!! I did a maple board using mineral spirits and 0000 steel wool to remove the grime and True Oiled it and turned out awesome. I hate this 20 posts before you can post a pic thing. I have a few refinish jobs I would love to show everyone.

Re: Jem77 DY Maple restore
I've got a question, hopefully someone can answer.
I own a 87 SK, and its fretboard is really dirty. I would like to know if the finish is worn of, or it can be cleaned off. Thanks!
