JEM77B RMR Tremolo arm.
Hi, I just bought a brand new JEM77B RMR from a shop in London. I bought the guitar over the phone and then went to pick it up. Someone had taken the trem arm off the guitar and put the guitar in the wrong case so, when I got there to pick it up - wrong case and no trem arm. They found a case (hard case with light purple interior with j-team logo on it) but this had a trem arm with bushings on it. I took the guitar home sans trem arm while they tried to find one for it (either the one it came with or, from the
Ibanez dealer
). They phoned me a couple of days later and gave me a bunch of
trem arms
, none of which seem quite right. They all fit into the bridge but there is either a bit of play in them or are lower/higher than each other. I've attached to pictures; one of the trem itself (not sure which one it is) and 4 arms. 1 is the trem arm from my PGM100JB (which I think is just a regular EDGE) the 3 below are the ones given to me by the shop. Any ideas?
BTW - it was difficult to take a shot of the JEM because its a crappy rainy day and had to use flash!!!!
Which Trem unit is this?
Which one is this?
Which is the correct arm for the JEM?
Thanks
Richard

Re: JEM77B RMR Tremolo arm.
#1 is your winner, it works for Edge Pro/Edge/LoPro.
Your first trem is an Edge Pro, your second is an Original Edge, and they can use the same arm.
There are some simple mods that can increase the tension of the arm movement, most popular is a thin layer of nail polish under the bushings.
I like your thread btw, the numbered arms gave me a good laugh, lol. Now lets see some pics of that RMR and PGM!!

Re: JEM77B RMR Tremolo arm.
Thanks for that. I'll get hold of another '1' (think I have one knocking about somewhere). You wanted some more pictures of the BRMR and the PGM....
This is a
beautiful Guitar
, bought it in 1991 (thinks) plays better today than it did back then. Don't know which is better really, this or the JEM (sighs!)
A Close up of the PGM100JB
Now the JEM7B RMR (BTW the 'B' is because the guitar is black, its only the 'face' which is Rock Mirror)
And here's me giving you a wave by way of thanks for the advice the way only a guy with the BRMR (or possibly also the
Chrome Boy
) can do!!!

Yep #1 . When I got my BRMR the arm wouldn't fit for some reason. But I took the one off my VWH and it fit. THe one that wouldn't fit in my BRMR fit's in my VWH perfectly. I'm not sure why either.(both are edge pro's) Anyway that sucks that you have to go through that BS. Hope you get it all straightened out soon. Congrats on the new axe. The PGM is nice too.

Thanks fellas - your help is much appreciated. Both guitars now have #1 and both work fine.

Re: JEM77B RMR Tremolo arm.
Was the shop Sound Control in the basement of virgin megastore by any chance?? Or did you get the one out of Turnkey (Soho Soundhouse) in Charing Cross Road??
Beautiful guitars

Re: JEM77B RMR Tremolo arm.
It was indeed from Sound Control. Maybe you've played this guitar? The guys there were OK individually but didn't seem to communicate well with each other (got things mixed up from what I said over the phone to one of them, wasn't communicated correctly to the other etc.) Didn't know which case it should be in (originally they brought the guitar down in an RG type case which was very badly torn etc.) Saying that though the guy I was dealing with made a really good effort to sort out the problem for me.
The PGM was bought from Rose Morris in 1991. Maybe you played that one too?
