JS + JEM owners, need info - Action, string bending comparis

I compared my 7Vs action and string bending with a JS1000BP.

The JS1000 action was lower with slightly less buzz and the strings bent easier. Could this be because of lower action?

It just seems the JS played overall better. The action was slightly lower. The trem was far more set into the body.

Are there any JEM + JS owners (both) that can confirm this between the 2 guitars?

Dude, you've been complaining about this VWH since the day you bought it. Would you take it to a qualified tech already?!?!

Jesus Christ Rich.

I was asking if the action is just naturally lower on the JS.
Who's complaining?

*cough* you have been ever since you bought the Jem used in the states and took it home, I do have the right guy right? You've asked everybody to measure their action, complained about yours and the buzzing, and everybody has repeatedly told you to visit a good tech.

Disclaimer - If I've got the wrong guy I apologize

No the JS will not have lower action. They're about the same if it's a post 98' 1000.

Yes it was me and yes I *WAS complaining about my action. I do fail to see how I am continuing my "complaining" in this topic.

I was merely asking if the JS1000 and JEM7V could perform equally with the same action... and you answered me and I appreciate it.

Another question which occured to me was involving the JS neck's multiradius.

Was that design for action at all? Does the neck curve more or less towards the upper frets?
I took a quick look but forgot to distinguish that.

Thanks again.

Yea, my bad, I was just taking it as an extrapolation, and in the middle of a fume anyway. I get in a bad mood it shows, it wasn't directed at you.

The multi radius is *to get the action lower, and still keep the 'feel' of the 9 1/2" radius at the edges.

Oh really? I suspected as much. I would assume the fretboard curves more on the upper frets making them slightly lower than the earlier frets so that te string vibrating beyond the fretted point wouldn't hit the other frets as much.

So then the JS could get a lower action than a JEM with less buzz (easier).
Well for sure, next time i'm going to our local guitar store here or downtown, i'm bringing my 7V to see what they can do.

Thanks Rich.

Actually, it "curves" less on the upper frets, flattens out, but still only to about an 11" radius. The Jem will still setup lower, 17" radius, but you'll get buzz when setup real low. This Rainbow I have that got the rest of the fret massaging finished sets up super low, which means you can do big bends on the high strings and they won't choke, but the wounds are still buzzy. Joe has a super light touch, he can get away with it, I don't.

The JEM will set up lower because the fretboard is flatter?
fret Massaging? Meaning fret dress?

Fret massaging, meaning the compound radiusing is half in the frets and half in the board. On a 1000 only the board has been multi radiused.

The flatter the radius the lower the action. This has nothing to do with buzz, it has to do with bending strings and having them choke out or not choke.

Oh ok simple enough.
Taking down the action tonight then checking the frets.

Gonna have her to a tech before the week is up.
