Greetings from slade everyone,
I am now the proud owner of a js1000.
Yesterday I received (via ups) a very nice, almost new js1000bp that I purchased used.
(from austxjim here in the forum)
I opened the case & it looked like the tone knob(
coil tap switch) was already pulled up at a
first glance.
So my friend gently pulled up on it as u would when using it & the knob with the metal post
still attached pulled out, right off the guitar in his hand.
Not just the knob, but also the metal post that turns the tone pot mechanism.
The post is bent look:

The post is bent.
We have no idea how this happened without damaging the guitar otherwise.
So far I can't even find a scuff in the finish under the knob.
I mean nothing, especially in the region around the tone knob.
I plugged it in & it seems to me that the electronics are all working properly.
The tone knob responds when i slip it in just right & turn it, but it is not connected so I cannot test "switching the coil tap".
(It looks like a clip is missing from the bottom of that post).
This is my first JS & I could use some guidance.
Do I get a replacement post for the knob or maybe try & straighten this one?
Is it possible to reconnect this post to the tone pot or do I have to get a new pot?
