JSX combo problem

I have a JSX combo for about 6 months now, the other night I was playing it and all of a sudden a load squeal omitted from the amp for about 5 seconds and then the output sound was reduced by about a half. Since then the punch of the overdrive is just not there and it sounds a bit hollow. Has anyone got any advice or opinions before I bring it back to the shop?

Check the tubes, I had this problem with my Mesa Bass head but it squealed and it let out a pop that made my windows crack from the air being moved from my cab, it also pushed my dad off his feet haha.

yeah it scared the **** out of me, I nearly ran out of the room screaming, brave eh!
