Keith Holland and I reached an agreement and this mess is done, thanks for everyones support. He is in fact a stand-up guy and although the work performed wasn't up to my personal standards, I don't doubt that if neither of us had let our ego's get in the way, mine especially, none of this would have happened. Like anyone wants to hear this guy take a dump on someones doorstep. Also, shtting in the mailbox (not male box) is much more effective.

I was actually responding to Clones post, I would into the store with a voice recorder, and record all this abuse.

Another reason to learn to work on your own guitars. I've gotten to the stage where I almost never let anyone else touch my instruments. They have to come with solid gold credentials and references, and only for work I really can't undertake myself (e.g. doing a neck reset on a Martin). All my electric guitar work I do myself, and have done for many years.

There are some good guys out there, but a bunch more that are mediocre at best, and at worst some are dangerously incompetent. We've all been in the position of having paid someone to screw up a perfectly good instrument through carelessness/incompetence/laziness, or sometimes they're honest but simply just not all that good at what they do. Don't feel alone.

It's people like him that ruin it for guys like me. I worked for an idiot like that once.

actually i've contacted a few local newspapers. there's this column called action line in my local major paper which another luthier recommended I contact. they contacted me back and are interested in the story!

i payed by debit but the charge has already gone through. i don't want to end up in a small claims court because of the court costs and time away from school would take too much of a toll.

You should at least file a complaint with the local better business bureau then.
