Knife vs. Ball Bearing

Hi,

I feel really dumb for asking.. but I'll do it anyway because I'm totally lost now.

What's the difference between knife edge and ball bearing? How do you tell them apart when you look at one?

I tried to figure it out myself, but I just couldn't. I simply don't know enough about the whole system.

Re: Knife vs. Ball Bearing

A knife edge is a basically a knife that pivots on the stud.

A ball bearing is sorta like a hinge. Not to be confused with ball bearing saddles found on some bridges.

The ZR tremolo is ball bearing, Floyds and Edge tremolos are knifes.
