Knocking noise on neck?

On my RG550, there is a knocking noise when I use the whammy bar (up or down).
The noise seems to be coming from where the neck meets the body. I have had this problem on my Jem777V. It is only a quiet noise, but I think it is something to do with the neck moving very slightly when I move the whammy bar.
Does it have anything to do with the tension of the strings?
Could anyone help me out?

That's it exactly. The neck is shifting in the pocket as the strings' tension changes. It won't hurt anything if the screws are all tight.
DON'T STRIP THEM byovertightening!

If you're antsy about it, there are things you can do, but I'd take it to a good fixit dude.
