kramer neck rebuild

so i just got this neck for free

my plans are to

1. remove the fretboard
1a. possibly remove the truss rod whole unit
2. atach securely a angled headstock
3. dremmel out a area for the truss rod
4. secure the mechanism
5. replace fretboard
6. dress the frets down flatter
7. full scallop, i mean full

im asking advice since ive done a repair on a headstock and a replaced fretboard before, what i dont know is how thick of a maple stock and exactly where to do the 13 degree anyone who has experience or advice wana let me know heres some pics, can take better if u need detailed images

Re: kramer neck rebuild

WOW THAT WAS FAST

as u can see im back

and heres the finished product, it easily came off at about 4-5 frets at a time, so every few inches with a iron and a old t shirt cuz the wood sweats out and kinda burns the oils on the surface....i mean small...but still

heres a pic of them, and a pic of the profile...any sugestions?? i used a razor to kinda mark up where frets were so i have a ball park when i line it up

Re: kramer neck rebuild

Why remove the fingerboard and replace the headstock? That's a pretty clean break. You should be able to just reglue it, if you can figure out how to clamp it.

no i got it from some guy, who is dumb....and tried to glue it with a solvent based epoxy...after i shave the stumps back and align them, im not gunna be comfortable with the glue

pluss i want a angled headstock, and i wana make it a bana head reversed...maybe for a future frankie???

Re: kramer neck rebuild

the frankie idea sounds ok, but i would replace the fretboard with a maple one.

Re: kramer neck rebuild

so im having a hard time marking where i need to make my cut

so the diagram is JUST like every angled neck i had, even to my most recent nice warmoth

so this is my question
with the top of the headstock as it goes into the neck is should end just before the fretboard so i can place the nutt right on the maple headstock and then the rest of the wood should go right under the fretboard....so im doing a standard 1/2 inch headstock....so from where the fretboard ends at the nutt there starts the 13 degree angle

with this in mind, hope im not ebing confusing

how far back do i have to cut the 13 degree angle on the neck from where the nut sits...how far back soes the cut go....remember i only have one try at this
