Question

Lo Pro Angle

Just wanted to ask, why are they setup at an angle when setup properly?

Re: Lo Pro Angle

They most certainly are not set up at an angle when they're proper. The base plate of the bridge as well as the saddles should be absolutely level with the body at the neutral position. The piece of the bridge body that's most easily visible in a direct side view is angled relative to the rest of it and I have no idea why this is the case. That's what leads to a lot of confusion over the proper set up of Edges.

Re: Lo Pro Angle

The sides are angled upward and the saddles and the baseplate are level to the body. Triangles are strong, the edge pro has a thicker baseplate to compensate for not having the raised sides.

Re: Lo Pro Angle

The lo-pro does look like it's at an angle when it's set up properly, but that's because you're looking at the wrong part of the trem. Because of the design of the lo-pro you have to look at the knife edges instead of the base of the trem. Also the squared off top of the saddles are aligned with the knife edges too. The Pic that's in the link that JJEMMER777 gave you doesn't show the knife edge very well, but the edge pic shows it if you look closely enough. Similar design, they both look like they're at an angle. If an Edge Pro was looking like it's at an angle then it would be because they're designed to look flat, but the lo-pro and edge trems look at an angle so you have to use the knife edges to tell if it's level with the body. I'm probably making this confusing. I have a hernia so I have to take Vicodin and I get a little loopy. Sorry. I'll stop now.
