Lo Pro "POP" and "Squeak"

OK, so for a few days now my Lo Pro has been behaving badly. When I put any dive pressure on it ... I don't know any better word to describe it but "pops". The springs are intact (I still need a spring lock), so there not causing it. I think it may be where the trem meets the bushing (the knife edges), but I am not too sure. i am also getting some squeaking as well. Any ideas?

Re: Lo Pro "POP" and "Squeak"

That's interesting that it's happening when you're doing dives as opposed to doing pull-ups. Is the guitar staying in tune? What kind of guitar is it? How's the height at the string retaining bar?

The knife edges with relation to the trem posts allow for the trem to return to it netral point but it wouldn't have anything to do with the problem you're describing AFAIT, so it couldn't really hurt to put some chapstick like Rich does.

Whether or not you have a spring locking bar, it shouldn't have anything to do with that popping sound you're describing.

Make sure that the nut is locked down properly.

Let us know what happens.

Jimmy

P.S.: The word is intact, not "in tact"

Re: Lo Pro "POP" and "Squeak"

CWG Body AANJ with an IBZ 350DX neck. Height at the string retainer is very low. I will be ripping it apart tonight anyway to finish the headstock (gloss) and I will try the chapstick method. Will keep you updated.

P.s.; The word is anything, not "anyhting".
