Locking down Jem changes tuning

Replaced the strings on my old Jem, got everything in tune and intonated, but when I tighten the locking bolts the strings go WAY flat for at least three strings, and way sharp for another. Only one or two strings are in the ballpark for fine adjustment. Is there something I'm doing wrong here or something I need to replace?

Thanks...

hi, try rich's (ibanezrules) setup tips and don't lock down the pads too tight...

worked great for me, regards

When you lock down the pads they twist a little. So each pad technically makes one string flat and one sharp whenever you lock down. Try to have them lightly finger tight before you lock down to minimize movement.

Had a similar problem with my 7VWH. The high E and B string would go way flat when I tightened the lock nuts. Turned out that the nut itself was loose. Try tightening (don't over do it) the two bolts that go through the neck to hold the nut in place. My problem was solved 100% with a 20 second fix.
