locking studs on 2005 and later jems question

Hi All,

I realized that this forum was a better place than the "jem" forum for this question, hence the re-post. I just picked up a 2005 Jem and am having a blast with it.

I was curious to read about all the improvements in the new edge trem, yet the concerns about the lack of locking studs.

For moderate trem use, does this typically cause a problem with "ovaling" of the wood around the anchors in the body?

I'm not opposed to Rich's fix, but figure that if my trem stays in tune (which it does), I'd only go through the trouble if my Jem was truly at risk of being permanently compromised via such ovaling over time.

Any input is appreciated and I thank you in advance.

Marc
