Loose locking nut. How to repair?

I recently purchased a second hand guitar with a loose top mount locking nut.

The screws are not tightening the nut against the neck anymore.

Does anyone know how to repair this kind of problem? Would you recommend to fill the existing holes and to drill new ones? But what would be the filling material then? How to redrill properly?

Any comments and suggestions welcome. I really need to stay in tune : )

Here is a down and dirty fix. Get some of this stuff http://www.u-40.com/rodbond.html Take the nut off and work the U-40 into the screw holes with a pin. Wipe off any that's not in the holes and put the nut on with the screws as tight as they will go. Let the u-40 cure and then tighten the screws as much as you dare. The real (and expensive) fix is to drill the holes out and dowel them.

quick and easy fix, cut a couple of matchsticks, put the in the holes, tighten screws (the extra wood should give bite) proper fix is to clean out the holes, dowel or matchstick them with woodglue, let cure and pilot hole them, rescrew.

Completely over the top not needed method would be to drill right thru, countersink the rear and convert it to rear mounted
