Loose trem arm

I've read the setup section, but this doesnt help me, my trem arm came shipped without the nylon attachments. Now is that normal for an Edge III?
My issue is i need it to be less lose so that when i'm abusing it, it doesnt pop out as it has done on occasion.

Cheers

Re: Loose trem arm

Those plastics really don't help much, do they?

You can try using a piece of plastic cellophane, from a string wrapper. Thats what I use. It usually doesn't last that long.

The screw-in trem arms, if done right, can offer better control over how tight/loose they are.

But for a pop-in, I wish I had an answer. Mechanical parts should be designed and manufactured in a way that they should not easily come loose. It is poor design, reminiscent of American quality standards.

"unparalleled craftsmanship" means "not as bad as the other guys". Time to set a higher "bar"

The Edge III trem arms are "drop in" arms, and have no "bushing" (the nylon attachments you're talking about). They simply drop in, and are tightened by pressing or "diving" the trem arm as much as possible, and then locating the trem arm retainer screw and tightening it to the desired tightness. If you're looking at the guitar from the trem to the neck, and you have the bar depressed as far as it will go, the trem arm retainer screw will be on the right-hand side...assuming this is a right-hand model...of the trem unit itself, underneath the trem, in the logical place where the trem arm actually drops into the trem unit. The screw is only a few mm wide, so you'll have to look closely. Once you find it and adjust it, your problem will be solved. I'm sure there's a pic of this thing on here somewhere, but look for that screw...it's easy to find and adjust. Good luck, dude!

Oh, and this has nothing to do with the quality of workmanship on this trem unit. It's simply how the Edge III is designed. It's actually pretty easy...arguably easier to adjust trem arm tension/tightness than on the original edge trems. Just sayin'...

Re: Loose trem arm

Thought it might be that, the one the uses the 3mm allen wrench.

I'd messed arround with this before, but came to the somewhat un-logical discision that it had made my bar harder to push down (i know i know it made sense at the time). Sweet, that will make it easyer to play the attitude song.

As an asside, Temol-no's are great.
