Lowering action on the acoustic.

I've got this acoustic, action is fair. *I need to take it down some. *Maybe some lowering at the nut will have to be done, but what tools do I need to lower the action on the bridge end? *Files are expensive and hard to come by around here, so it isn't a trial and error thing for me. *And the only decent tech within 150 miles that I know of would charge more than the guitar is worth to do it.

Take out the saddle (I assume its plastic) and use sandpaper. That always worked for me.

Be careful not too sand off too much or it will rattle big time!

Also, lay the sand paper on a flat surface and move the bone across the paper, being careful not to tilt it. Consistent contact with the wood in the bridge, all the way across, is important to tone.

Lets just note that you will want to use a high grit sand paper too 220 should do the trick. You will have more control over how much material you remove.

Also, the intonation is flat at 12. *Any tips? *I've never attempted to work on an acoustic, so I don't think moving the bridge is within my power.

They make "offset" bridges.
I guess it'd be possible to "offset" your stock bridge. You might want to try that first, since you're just going to have to buy a new one anyways.
Shouldn't cost more than a couple bucks.
